A schedule of end-of-semester events!

As this semester is coming to a close, there are a few graduating senior events coming up!

 

We have Art History Graduating Senior Thesis Presentations, Tuesday 4/22 at 5:30 in Markland House.

We have BFA oral reviews on Thursday, 5/1 at 3pm, followed by the Senior BA/BFA Exhibition at 5pm, both in the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum.

Also on 5/1, at 7pm, is the Graphic Design Senior Portfolio Show in the Virginia Room.

Bachelor of Fine Arts- SPRING 2014 PORTFOLIO SUBMISSIONS!!!

Announcing the BFA Portfolio Submission date for Spring 2014! 

 Anyone interested in Studio Art/Grad School is encouraged to submit! 

On Monday, March 24th drop off your portfolio in the Heade Conference Room (art building 2nd floor, next to S-5). There will be a faculty review Tues-Fri and portfolio pickup is scheduled for Saturday the 29th.

What to submit: Six Works of ART(all media forms accepted)
                           An Artist statement
                           An unofficial transcript

Art Soiree: Cohosted by BFA alumni Jolene Du Bray

The event will be held on Friday January 31st from 7-9pm. All skill levels are invited to this workshop event! Fine Artists Judith Williams and Jolene Du Bray will be guiding you step by step through your own painting. Find more info on the Facebook event page here.

Flagler Art faculty and recent grads at the Cummer Museum of Art in Jacksonville

If you are in the Jacksonville area on Tuesday, December 17, be sure to attend the opening of OUR SHARED PAST, featuring the work of Professors Patrick Moser, Sara Pedigo, and Leslie Robison.  Flagler BFA alums Brianna Angelakis, Becca Hoadley, and Denise Liberi are also featured in the showing which includes the work of 34 regional artists- way to go Flagler!

Flagler Illustration

The students this semester did some top notch work for my class, Illustration 325. 

Here’s 2 fine examples of the work from an assignment for Editorial/Story illustration.

I choose the Aesop’s Fables as the story content because they are 2000 years old and still relevant and in the public domain so we won’t have any copyright issues should the work be published later.

Stuff like this never gets old in my opinion and the students gave it a nice fresh coat of paint.

3. A Statement Reflecting your Intention for Entering the Program

Bring the above items to Library room 235  by 5pm on Monday, Nov 1st.

Pick up the above items Nov 5th after 1pm. Decisions will be given before Registration.
