AIGA Event: KYN Design Team from Jax

AIGA presents Mike Fretto and Dennis Eusebio, from KYN Design Firm in Jax, who will be speaking in the Gamache-Koger Theater on March 4th at 7pm. Be sure to make it out!

Announcing the BFA Portfolio Submission date for Spring 2014! 

 Anyone interested in Studio Art/Grad School is encouraged to submit! 

On Monday, March 24th drop off your portfolio in the Heade Conference Room (art building 2nd floor, next to S-5). There will be a faculty review Tues-Fri and portfolio pickup is scheduled for Saturday the 29th.

What to submit: Six Works of ART(all media forms accepted)
                           An Artist statement
                           An unofficial transcript

Ideas and Images Lecture Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Dr. Bridget Cooks, an Associate Professor of Art History and Visual Studies at UC Irvine, will be on campus to give two lectures. Thursday evening there's a public lecture, as part of the Ideas & Images program, at 7pm in the Flagler Room. The lecture is titled "Portraiture, Politics, and the Documentary Impulse in the Photography of Chris McNair." 
 
Student are also invited to attend Professor Chris Balaschak's  Art History III class Thursday afternoon at 3:30 in Kenan 300 where she will be giving a talk titled "Exhibiting Blackness: African Americans and the American Art Museum" (based on her 2011 book of the same name).

First Friday Art Walk!

Don't forget that the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum will be open from 5-9 this Friday for Art Walk! Beth Maycumber and Julie Dickover will be giving a walkthrough of the exhibit starting at 5, so be sure not to miss it.


And if you happen to be in Gainesville this Friday be sure to make it out to the Present Company Excluded Event at the SFC Gallery! Flagler Alumni and Professors participated in this photography exhibit.
